Follow Up

I was following my doctor's orders with the meds - benzoyl wash and the erythromycin bingo stamper. Something wasn't feeling right. The second day using it it got worse and the skin on my chest felt all crawly and weird. I almost understood how psycho people rip their own skin off, I wanted to - badly. I tried benadryl but that just made me fall asleep. My regular doctor referred me to my dermatologist. I probably should have just started off there - lesson learned. If you can self-refer to specialists, do it. At first the receptionist said they were all booked until Thursday. She must have heard the desperation in my voice and told me to show up at 4. That must be the unscheduled but needs to be seen appointment. I think the doctor was impressed with my condition. He said to scrap all that other stuff. "We're not going topical anymore." That only leaves a pill or a big needle. I can go back to my regular routine of washing my face with honey (thanks E! it really does work and I've been stuck on it since you started. haha, stuck on it!) So now we're on to tetracycline once a day - for a month! And I am to report back at the end for a follow up exam. Geez louise. One silly cavity filling has turned into a big (and expensive) ordeal.

Hooray for honey! We use it all the time, so I'm glad someone else does it too. =) Also, it's great that you FINALLY got some relief on your skin-- that sounds just terrible, so good for the dermatologist for helping you out, and good for you for sounding desperate. Maybe it wasn't that hard at that point!
