I haven't been able to come up with a good blog topic lately. You know the kind that will give me a good deal to write about or something really worth sharing. So as not to leave you readers bored and feeling neglected, you will get some randomness today.
Travis hasn't been taught baby sign language. We never got into the whole concept and we really just like to use plain old words around here to communicate. So in lieu of having a sign for "all done", Travis has a more direct approach of just throwing everything (plate, cup, utensils, uneaten or partially chewed food) on the floor. It used to be a windshield wiper effect of pushing the remains of his meal on to the floor. Then he began just picking things up and chucking them. A peach slice can make it all the way across the kitchen - FYI. We've been trying to tell him that it's not polite and we take the whole tray away as soon as the "all done" game starts.
This was all well and good in a kitchen. The game has now started in the car. I give the boys snacks when I pick them up from school. It's usually 5:30 and we have a 30 minute commute home which means they are hungry and feisty. Travis is chilling with a banana and Nicholas has some fruit snacks. We're cruising along the outer beltline when half a banana goes flying by my head and lands on the floorboard. I guess he was all done with it.
Every morning as I surf the web I eat a bowl of cereal with skim milk. I always set the bowl down for the cats. They now have a habit of sitting next to my chair waiting for it. Sometimes (like when I'm too lazy to go to the fridge in the garage) I use Nicholas's soy milk in my cereal. Cats do not like it when you set down your cereal bowl for them and they find it is soy milk. They walk away in disgust and curse you for the rest of the day while they snooze away in a sunny corner.
Nicholas told me that he is a grown-up on the inside.
